Williamwood and South Giffnock Waiting and Loading restrictions review

The waiting and loading (parking) restrictions for Williamwood & South Giffnock are now under review.

The area encompassed in the Williamwood and South Giffnock review will connect the areas covered by the traffic regulation orders below:

This area includes Eastwood Toll and two main routes across the Council in the A77 (Ayr Road) and A727 (Eastwoodmains Road & Rouken Glen Road) along with Rouken Glen Park and many residential areas. The aim of this review is to assist with the safe and efficient flow of traffic in the area while maintaining the safety and accessibility requirements of junctions, crossing points, and various other potential hazards in high use locations.

The preliminary step of the review has been carried out. The feedback received will be used to help develop final proposals to be presented in a formal consultation in 2018. The formal consultation is a statutory requirement of the legal process necessary for the promotion of any new Traffic Regulation Order for the introduction of waiting and loading restrictions.

Consultation documents

The following PDFs were presented in the informal consultation:

However amendments to some of these proposals may be required in order to accommodate subsequent changes to parking taking place in the area as a direct consequence of any new restrictions introduce when the Newton Mearns area restrictions review is complete.

Feedback

Comments received on the proposals will be accepted for as long as reasonably possible until such time as the final proposals are drawn up for the formal consultation.

These can be sent either by email to parking@eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk or post to:
