Halo Cat Microchip Scanner

East Renfrewshire Council street cleaners, in connection with the Cats Protection League, have now been issued with state of the art chip scanners. This means that any reported instances of deceased cats will be checked using the scanners to verify whether they have been chipped.

These scanners are also used on any cats reported through the councils reporting system and any information gathered from these scanners will be passed to the local Cats Protection centre to enable them to match it with any reports of missing cats and help trace their owners.

East Renfrewshire Council would also like to inform you that as from 1 April 2017 there will be a charge for the removal of all dead animals from private properties at a cost of £29.75.
