Bins, recycling and rubbish

I feel a three-weekly collection of rubbish is not enough

I struggle to fit my rubbish into my bin at the moment and there's no way I can manage to fit another week's rubbish in it. What do you suggest I do?

Although you may struggle for storage at the moment, the new four-bin service will give you the opportunity to recycle more materials more often, including bulky cardboard and food and drink cartons. Where residents are genuinely struggling for waste storage and are maximising the opportunity to recycle, adequate provision will be made. The new system takes into account evidence which suggests that the majority of Scottish households can manage their waste using this system, provided they are maximising the opportunities to recycle. We are encouraging residents to give it a go before assuming that they will not be able to cope.
