Community Councils

The planning process and community councils

Planning and development - community council's role.

Community councils have a statutory role to play in local planning and development matters. This involves consultation with their communities and thereafter accurately reflecting those views on any planning and development issues. It is important that a community council does not simply form an isolated opinion and make a representation to the planning authority, community engagement is imperative and this link provides the range and scope of areas in which community councils become involved.
