National Entitlement Cards for Young People aged 16-18 are changing, with a new type of smart card replacing them by December 2016.

NEC Cards Young People (16-18)

As a result of improved smart ticketing technology, all National Entitlement Cards used to access concessionary travel are being replaced by December 2016.

Before it expires a new style card will be sent to your registered address

The new style card will have the transport ITSO number and the magenta strip over the date of birth

  • To continue accessing concessionary travel you need to start using this new card immediately and destroy any old bus passes now.

If you have an old style card you can pop into one of our offices with the card and one of our Customer Services Officers will request that a new style card be posted to your registered address.

If you have changed your address please provide proof of your new address to enable us to amend your record to ensure your card goes to the correct address

If you wish your photo to be updated please bring along your card or photographic proof and we will change your photo before issuing a new card
