Consultative Draft of the Urban Design Framework

Gillespies have produced a Consultative Draft of the Urban Design Framework for Barrhead town centre. The framework is the first outcome of the various community events we have been hosting over the last few months (see Community Spaces page for more information). It provides design guidance for the landscaping and setting of key developments within Barrhead town centre and hopefully reflects what has been discussed with those who have worked with us thus far.
The document is sizeable and as such, we thought it would not be practical to post a copy to everybody on the Public Spaces database. However, your comments on the Consultative Draft are invited and as such, we have left some copies at Barrhead Library for you to read and have also broken down the document by chapters below.
If you have any thoughts about the document, please contact Gillian McNamara on 0141 577 3044 or on gillian.mcnamara@eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk before November the 10th.
We appreciate that this is a quick turnaround but we are very keen to move onto the next phase of the project, the development of design options for the Public Spaces. There will be further community events at this stage of the process, more information will be made available as soon as we have it.
