How are we going to do this?
To make sure that the final designs for these public spaces are of the highest quality and meet the needs of all those who live and work in the town, the regeneration team will be undertaking two keys projects, these are:
Public Spaces Community Group
We know that for the public spaces to be truly successful, their design must be heavily informed by what the community wants and needs. To make sure that this is the case, the Better Barrhead team will be working with groups and individuals from across the Barrhead community throughout the design process.
The partnership between the community and the regeneration team has already begun with a number of events being held since last October. You can find more about future events and have a look at what has already taken place on this page and on the community places archive so please keep checking the site for up to date information.

Employing a Design consultant
The second component of the public space project has been to appoint Gillespies design consultants (www.gillespies.co.uk) who will be working with us to create the best possible designs for the public spaces in the town. One of the reasons that Gillespies were chosen was for their expertise in creating designs that are informed by the views and ideas of local residents and businesses and they will be playing a key role in the Public Spaces project.
The design consultants will also be responsible for project managing the contractors chosen to build the final designs.
