Training Support

Our Economic Development Team provides training programmes that help local businesses to focus on raising individuals’ skills and encouraging a learning culture within companies.

Training support is available for areas such as:

  • supervisory skills

  • manufacturing operations

  • advanced managerial techniques

  • business planning

  • financial management

  • information communication technology (ICT)

  • marketing

  • e-commerce

If you are a small to medium enterprise (SME), you should aim to support a training needs analysis or a personal development plan for each employee being trained. Where possible, training should lead to a recognised qualification, such as SVQ Level 2 or above.

Training to meet legislation is not eligible for support from our Economic Development Service.
