Reclamation - support and advice

Reclamation projects are often central to the regeneration of the local economy. We aim to promote the reclamation or improvement of derelict, neglected or unsightly land, through the use of grants.

We select, determine the priorities, and provide finance at an appropriate level for these projects. The design work on reclamation schemes is undertaken by engineering consultants and the construction work is undertaken by civil engineering contractors. We commission design work from either our own in-house consultancy or from private sector companies.

Our Economic Development team also administers a budget for the maintenance and management of land reclamation sites.
