Grants

Community Learning and Development Fund (Regeneration and Participation):  This fund is available to support a range of activities by local communities such as;

  • Seed-corn funding for new organisations

  • Community capacity-building events for under-represented groups.

  • Community learning and development in the wider community

  • Support to groups to promote their participation in community planning

  • Social regeneration, civic pride and heritage activities such as festive occasions, gala days, arts events and sporting activities.

Environmental small grants scheme

Grants of up to £500 are available to help groups carry out projects which improve the physical environment.  Priority will be given to groups from Regeneration Areas.  For further information please call the number below.

Tenants Association grants

Grants to assist tenants’ groups by providing:

  1. Start up funding – up to £250 per Association

  2. An annual grant to help with running costs – up to £250 per association

  3. One off grants for special projects.

Strategic Fund

This fund is available as a contribution towards the cost of voluntary or community organisations which can offer partnership of a strategic nature, in line with the Councils’ key objectives.

Recipients of this fund will be subject to a Service level agreement with the Council and a formal risk assessment.

Please note all applications for the Strategic Fund must be received by the Council by the December preceding the next financial year in which the funding is required.

Social Work section 10 grants

For national or local organisations, whose sole or primary purpose is to promote social welfare.  The amount of grant available varies.  Applications are usually considered on an annual basis.

Community Council Challenge Fund

This fund is used to fund the administration costs of all the community councils in East Renfrewshire.  It is also used to assist community councils in pursing specific initiatives.

Whitelee windfarm fund

It is available to all eligible projects within East Renfrewshire although preference will be given to those within 5km of Whitelee windfarm.

Financial support will be available for projects that meet one or more of the following priorities:

  • Further sustainable energy objectives

  • Protect and enhance the natural and built environment

  • Protect and enhance local heritage

  • Enhance the education, health and cohesion of communities

  • Promote sustainable transport

  • Improve local infrastructure

  • Support local events or activities

  • Promote local tourism or local enterprise, including training

  • Support physical activity and leisure pursuits
