Community planning and development

What is Community Planning?

Community planning involves local agencies who deliver public services working together to make those services work better for local people.  Service agencies work together so that we can do a better job for local people than we could do if agencies worked on their own all the time.

You might also hear it referred to as “working together”, “partnership working” or “joint working”.

About the East Renfrewshire Community Planning Partnership

The East Renfrewshire Community Planning Partnership was formed in 1999.

East Renfrewshire Single Outcome Agreement

Community Planning Partners in East Renfrewshire have recently completed their 2009-10 annual update of East Renfrewshire’s Single Outcome Agreement (SOA) with the Scottish Government.  The first SOA was published in June 2008 and this year’s update builds from this. This document sets out the key outcomes that the Partners have agreed to deliver over the next three years, for the local communities of East Renfrewshire.

Community planning in East Renfrewshire has recently been revised to reflect the change in relationship between central and local government, the focus on outcome delivery through the new SOA, and the public sector reform agenda.

The changes to community planning will mean that we are well placed to focus on outcomes and deliver the targets and indicators within the SOA.
