Volunteering

As well as our highly committed team volunteers play a very important role in Adult and literacy learning.   Volunteers support literacy learners along side a lead tutor in small groups or perhaps in one to one sessions with a learner. In addition volunteering gives you the opportunity to develop new skills and help others to develop theirs.

Volunteers are expected to participate in a training course which has been developed nationally in Scotland,   'Introductory training in Adult Literacy and Learning'.   In addition to meeting new people you will also gain new skills and be helping others to do the same.  Payments are made towards any travelling expenses incurred during your volunteering period with us.   All volunteers will be ask to complete an enhanced disclosure check through Disclosure Scotland.
