East Renfrewshire Library and Information Service are considering changing the way we charge our customers for overdue books.

At present we charge 30p per item, per week or part week. This means that you pay 30p regardless of whether your book is one day late or one week late. Concessions are charged 20p.

In the interests of providing a fairer service for our customers we are considering introducing a daily charge for overdue books. We are proposing to charge 6p per book (3p for concessions). This means that if your book is one day late you will now pay 6p rather than 30p. Concessions will pay 3p rather than 20p.
