Benefits- do you need help with your rent or council tax? Do you know what council tax discounts are available?

If you are on a low income you may be able to claim money to help pay with your rent and/ or council tax. This money is called Housing or Council Tax Benefit. Discounts are also available for residents who are not entitled to council tax benefit but who have other people staying with them on a low income.  There are also discounts on offer for residents who live alone or who share a house with students.

Income Maximisation- are you getting all the money you are entitled to?

Income Maximisation staff check that you are receiving the correct welfare benefits including Disability Living Allowance, Attendance Allowance, Housing and Council Tax Benefit.  Staff will also carry out financial assessments for residents receiving Home Care.

Staff will assist you with completing any forms. A home visiting service is also available.

Money Advice- are you having debt problems?

If you’re having difficulties with debts, the last thing you need is someone else taking your money.

Our Money Advice service is free, confidential and completely impartial and staff will work with you for as long as you need. Staff can provide advice on all types of debt, negotiate with your creditors, help you to budget and arrange a repayment scheme with you. Staff can even help complete court forms.
