Council tax is a tax set by the local authority to meet their budget requirement. This income ensures that we can provide a wide range of essential services to all our residents.

Find out about council tax bands and charges from 1 April 2018 to 31 March 2019.

Set up a direct debit or find out other ways you can pay your council tax.

Such as: single person's discount, unoccupied and unfurnished exemption, student discount, disabled person reduction and more.

You may be entitled to council tax reduction if you are on a low income; find out how to qualify and apply.

Tell us about changes that affect your council tax including a change of address or the number of adults living in the property.

Tell us online if your tenancies change. Remember landlords can be liable for council tax while their properties are empty.

Responsibility for paying council tax on a property depends on your circumstances, check if it's you.
