Youth clubs and organisations

The department of Community Services has responsibility for developing community learning and development opportunities for young people and also supports the voluntary sector in developing youth provision.

The section deals with a wide range of youth programmes e.g.

  • Xl princes trust programme

  • Recruitment, support and training of volunteers and sessional staff

  • Duke of edinburgh’s award

  • Detached/outreach youth work

  • Young women’s groups

  • Issue based projects

  • Youth participation project

  • Log in internet café

  • Fairweather hall youth facility

  • Community based youth provision

  • School holiday programmes

  • Fire reach

Young persons services team is supported by a team of sessional youth workers and youth work assistants operating across the council
