Find out how to apply for a nursery place for a 3 or 4 year old child.

East Renfrewshire Council nursery place

When to register your child

You should register your child as soon as they turn two years old.

Closing date

You should apply by the last day in February of the school year your child will start nursery.

For example, if your child should start sometime in 2018/19 you should return your application by 28 February 2018.

Late applications after this date will be allocated at a later date.

Nursery places for 2017/18 session

The closing date for this session has now passed.

Places for late allocations are limited.

Nursery place options

The Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014 means three and four year olds are entitled to 600 hours of free early learning and childcare.

There are various options available to you. For example, some nurseries may offer wrap around care.

Funding for a partnership nursery and playgroups

If you want your child to go to a partnership private or voluntary playgroup, you should contact them direct.

Closing date

You must register your child with the nursery or playgroup by 30 April of the school year they will start.

Applications received after this date will not be eligible for funding.

The nursery or playgroup will contact you directly to let you know if you've been successful for funding.

Unsuccessful applicants who live in East Renfrewshire will be offered a place in a Council nursery.
