New Strategy for Mental  Health in East Renfrewshire

The Community Health & Care Partnership – the NHS and East Renfrewshire Council working together - has been working on a strategy to develop a single comprehensive mental health service for all communities.

We want to promote mental well-being and improve access to mainstream services, tackling stigma, discrimination and inequality, and involving service users and carers.

We want to prevent mental health problems, but for those who experience them we want to see better outcomes than at present.

If you would like to have a say in the final plans, find out more and come to our PUBLIC CONSULTATION EVENT at Rhuallan House, 1 Montgomery Drive, Giffnock    10 am – 1pm, Friday 14 Nov 2008

The strategy will -

  • set out the direction for mental health services in East Renfrewshire over the next three years
  • set out our priorities for new and improved services to be provided by the CHCP and by our partners
  • involve spending £2.4m in the first year, half with local voluntary sector organisations.
