Disability Roadshow comes to East Renfrewshire
Residents with a disability are being encouraged to take part in a Roadshow to help improve services in the area. East Renfrewshire Disability Workers’ Network and Inclusion Scotland have organised a disability roadshow in East Renfrewshire on 20th October 2008.
The long term aim of the day roadshow is to create an independent group of disabled people who can get involved in community planning and work alongside the Disability Workers’ Network.
The roadshow will be held at Eastwood House in Giffnock and includes: sessions on accessible communication with Jac Ross from the NHS, employability with Linda Arthur from the East Renfrewshire Council’s jobs action team and housing for disabled people with Bill Scott from Inclusion Scotland. You can download the Roadshow programme below.
The Disability Workers’ Network is an independent organisation which was set up to share knowledge of issues relating to services for disabled people. Everybody working with disabled people in East Renfrewshire can join the Disability Workers’ Network. Members include staff of the Council and NHS, as well as people working in the private and voluntary sectors.
If you know a disabled person who might be interested in taking part please complete and return the booking form below, alternatively you can contact Inclusion Scotland on 0141 887 7058 or information@inclusionscotland.org
