Food Safety Week

Food Safety Week 2008 took place between 9th-13th June. Schools, community groups and local councils across the UK took part in events which highlighted the importance of food safety and hygiene in the home.
In East Renfrewshire:
stickers, press-out finger puppets and leaflets about the importance of food safety were available in our community libraries
free fridge thermometers were given away to the first 100 customers who asked for them, at council headquarters at Barrhead and Eastwood
During Food Safety Week the Food Standards Agency focused on the 4 Cs (Cooking, Cleaning, Chilling and Cross-contamination). Use the link on the left of this page, or the website below, to find out more.
