Our Customer Service opening hours are 8.45am - 4.45pm, Monday to Friday. The Payment Centre hours are 9am - 4.15pm, with only credit/debit card payments (not cash) between 1pm and 2pm.

Find out about the advice, development and practical and financial support you'll receive to foster a young person.

  • 24-hour support ongoing
  • development opportunities to meet and learn from other foster carers
  • support from education, health services and a range of other professionals
  • membership of The Fostering Network who provide independent advice, support and guidance to foster carers in Scotland

Financial support

You'll receive a skills payment which reflects your level of care.

You'll also receive a fostering allowance to cover the day-to-day expenses of caring for a child or young person.

These payments depend on the age of the child or young person and are reviewed on an annual basis.
