Services and communal repairs

Council House Repairs

We will prioritise any repair you request and send you a repair receipt giving the date when the work will be completed.

  • Emergency category response within 4 hours - We will, for example, make safe a burst pipe by turning the water off.

  • Emergency category response within 24 hours - We will carry out an emergency repair, for example, where there is no heating. If a full repair is not possible, we will supply temporary heating until a repair can be carried out.

  • Urgent category response within 10 working days - We will, for example, renew a light switch or repair a small leak.

  • Cyclic category response within 25 working days - We will provide routine repairs, for example, repairing small cracks in plasterwork.

We will carry out minor follow-on repairs as a result of annual gas servicing. As work previously inspected, this will be carried out within 20 working days from date of service.

We will ensure that where a member of staff is required to check out a repair prior to work being carried out we will offer you an appointment within 3 working days. Where this is not convenient we will arrange a date that is convenient for you.

Our staff aim to minimise the inconvenience caused to you when carrying out a repair and will at all times respect your property and your right to privacy.

Your comments regarding our repair service are valued by us. Consequently we will send you a Tenant Satisfaction Survey form when you report urgent or cyclic repairs that are required in your house.
