Allocation of council homes
East Renfrewshire Council aims to ensure that all allocations are made in a fair and consistent way, ensuring that applicants considered to be in the greatest need are housed in the shortest possible timescale. We aim to ensure that affordable housing, of good quality is available to those who need it regardless of an applicant’s race, faith, colour, political beliefs, sexual orientation, marital status, financial status or ethnic origin.
This is the second allocation policy to be introduced by East Renfrewshire Council. As part of this review process, considerable discussion took place with staff from housing and from other services, elected members and representatives from all of East Renfrewshire communities.
