Online Planning Information
Search, view and make comments on current planning applications online
Welcome to the
online planning service
This service allows you to:
search for planning applications and associated information;
look at plans and documents;
make comments on an application; and
look at lists of submitted and decided applications.
Use of this site is subject to certain terms and conditions and by using it you are deemed to be agreeing to those terms and conditions.
How to use the on-line planning service
The online planning service shows you information on planning applications submitted since the start of the year 2000. You can view the associated documents for applications submitted over approximately the past 3 years. Documents are posted online normally when an application becomes valid or within 3 days of receipt.
You may make comments on, or object to any application which is as yet undecided. These comments will be submitted to the Planning Service and taken into account in reaching a decision on the application. To do so, simply go into the online planning service by selecting the link above, put in the reference number (or address) of the application into the 'search' box, and once the details of the application appears, select 'Login' to make your comments. You may alternatively submit comments directly to us by e-mail or by writing to our offices. The contact details can be viewed in the contact area. You should quote the application reference number and/or the address of the property.
You do not need to register to use the on-line planning service. However if you do, you will be able to use some of the advanced functions e.g. you will be able to save particular searches and track individual applications.
Weekly lists of planning applications
You can see our weekly lists of applications on the on-line planning service or by going to the weekly lists of planning applications page.
Planning notices
For some planning applications, a notice requires to be published in a local newspaper to raise public awareness of the proposals. All public notices for current planning applications are now also published on the Tell Me Scotland website. On that site you can search for Planning notices in the East Renfrewshire Council area, or within your postcode area, and can see a map of the site to which the notice relates. For more information go to the External websites area.
Information about the planning applications committee
Planning applications may be decided in two ways:
Major developments (and certain applications where the Council has a direct interest) are decided by Councillors sitting on the Planning Applications Committee. You can view the Planning Applications committee agendas and minutes on the Planning Applications Committee web page. For more information go to the Related pages area.
Local developments are generally decided by Council officials under powers in the Scheme of Delegated Functions. For more information go to the Agendas, Reports and Minutes page in the Related pages area.
