About our schools
In East Renfrewshire, all schools are organised into seven clusters containing a secondary school, associated primaries and nursery facilities. Schools in these clusters work together to ensure a high quality of education for children and young people. Working together is important to ensure that when children transfer from nursery to primary or from primary to secondary education, the transition is as smooth as possible, and that children continue to progress. These clusters are shown in the table below.
Our Education Department provides an education service for the local area through:
- seven secondary schools
- twenty-three primary schools (nine of which have nursery classes)
- two nursery schools
- six family centres
- one school for children with additional support needs
This area is recognised as having a high-achieving Education Department, and many of our services are considered the best in Scotland.
We are committed to continuous improvement, in order to further our priorities of inclusion, ambition, achievement and progress for all.
