Council top team appointed
The council's political management, committee membership and appointments to external organisations have been agreed.
Councillor Jim Fletcher was re-appointed as Leader of East Renfrewshire Council at the council's statutory meeting last night (Wednesday 23 May).
Councillor Fletcher will lead a coalition between Labour, the SNP and Independent Councillor, Danny Devlin.
As Leader of the council he will be supported by Depute Leader and Economic Development Convener Councillor Tony Buchanan. Councillor Alastair Carmichael was elected as Provost and will be supported by Depute Provost Betty Cunningham.
Speaking after the meeting, Councillor Fletcher said he was "delighted to return as council leader and would be continuing the hard work of the last five years."
