Food Festival Chefs

As part of a large promotional campaign for East Renfrewshire Food Festival 2012, FEAST REN which will run from 1- 16 September with culinary events taking place right across East Renfrewshire, will see the launch of the first East Renfrewshire Food and Drink Directory.

Events and economic development convener, Councillor Tony Buchanan explains, "We would like all of our food and drink business to feature in the FEASTREN Food and Drink Directory and promote all of our local businesses. This will be at no cost to the businesses themselves."

Now in its fourth year the East Renfrewshire Food Festival has gone from strength to strength and this year's festival will be promoted by the events media partners - The Herald, Saturday and Sunday Herald as well as on 5pm.co.uk and local media outlets.

"We would also like to run a promotion in every Food and Drink business across East Renfrewshire for the duration of the Festival and drive footfall into our local businesses creating a positive economic impact as a result of the Food Festival itself."

To minimise the demands on time for busy local food and drink business owners, there are two early Food and Drink Business Breakfast meetings to discuss the details of the FEAST REN Food Festival, Directory and Promotions.

The 7.30 - 8.30am sessions will run on:

Monday 9 July @ Eastwood House, Eastwood Park, Giffnock. G46 6UG and

Wednesday 11 July @ Snooks Steakhouse, 12 Westbourne Centre, Barrhead. G78 1LR

Please RSVP to kim.robertson@eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk or on 0141 577 3048 and advise which session you will be attending.

Councillor Buchanan, "It would be great to see local businesses having a real appetite for this kind of promotion which is part of the  - A Place to Grow campaign, attracting visitors, inward investment and supporting local businesses".
