Event Development and Funding Workshops
Very Enterprising
East Renfrewshire Council is inviting all local charities, community, and voluntary organisations and enthusiastic would be events organisers to come along to an 'event organising' development day, either on 21 or 22 August.
The first event will be held at the Voluntary Action Offices in the Undercover Building in Barrhead with the second event, the following day at Eastwood House in Giffnock. Both days will run from 12.30 - 6pm.
Communities convener, Councillor Mary Montague explains, "The workshops will cover how to design an event, from concept to completion, how to publicise and market an event and the crucial ingredient, how to get your event funded."
Events convener, Councillor Tony Buchanan adds, "Potential funders will be there on the day allowing everyone access to share their specific project ideas with The Robertson Trust, Lottery Heritage Fund, Sports Scotland, Age Scotland amongst others. Support organisations
"CEIS, Social Enterprise Academy and Pilot Light Scotland will also be on hand to provide support with business development and planning and discuss how groups can benefit by becoming a social enterprise."
There will be presentations from Social Enterprise Academy, The Robertson Trust and Sports Scotland.
The event has been organised by East Renfrewshire Council with third sector partners, Voluntary Action East Renfrewshire.
All events organisers will be given an events, marketing and funding toolkit which will provide all essential information and tools to support groups through the funding process.
