Voluntary Action
If you want to find out about volunteering opportunities in your area, or get support with volunteering, Voluntary Action (VA) can help.
Voluntary Action aims to empower the communities of East Renfrewshire through volunteering and voluntary action. Through the work of the Volunteer Centre and Council for the Voluntary Sector, VA support local voluntary sector organisations and support individuals to become engaged in volunteering.
There are a number of projects working within Voluntary Action to provide services for the local community:
- BefriendER Project: Older People’s programme and supported Volunteering Service
- Please Stand Up Project: youth volunteering
- ER Heritage Family Timeline Project
- Community Transport Project
All of the above projects recruit local people as volunteers to provide services for the community.

Voluntary Action can also put you in touch with a huge number of organisations looking for volunteers. These include:
