Staying Active

Exercise doesn’t need to take up a huge chunk of your day – fit it around the other things you need to do!

Experts recommend at least 30 minutes of physical activity on most days, but you don't have to do all at once. Try walking for 15 minutes twice each day. Climb stairs instead of taking the escalator, or walk part of the way to work.

It’s seems obvious; but the trick to staying active is to make it fun, In East Renfrewshire there’s a range of options – take up a sport, join a walking or jogging group, sign up for a class or join a club!

You'll find ideas for getting out and getting active throughout My Health. Why not take a look at the learning section for links to leisure classes and you could be on the way to becoming a keen golfer or line dancing queen!

Check out the links down the left hand side of the page for more ideas.
