The section deals with some of the most common illnesses and conditions affecting people in Scotland. You'll find the details of people who can offer help and support locally as well as links to advice and information online and on the phone.
If you need more information, or information on a illness that isn't listed here, ask at your local library. Library staff will do their best to locate relevant library materials or help you to find what you need online. Several East Renfrewshire libraries now have My Health Information Points which stock a larger selection of health books, DVDs and leaflets. NHS24
NHS 24 can provide you with advice on how to look after yourself and treat common health problems. Their massive health encylodpaedia will give you detailed information on most illnesses and conditions, taking in symptoms, causes, diagnosis and treatment.
Health Information +
HI+ has all the NHS resources at its disposal. It searches the various NHS websites and other good sites like the BBC and Patient UK for information.
