Help with a Hearing impairment

Hearing Impairment Service

This service is free and available to all residents in East Renfrewshire Council who are hard of hearing. They offer advice, support and help to assess the need for equipment and aids for your home. Some examples of how they can help:

  • Information about lip-reading and sign language classes
  • Information about organisations for deaf and hard of Hearing people
  • Give advice and supply equipment aids as appropriate for you home e.g. text telephone amplifier, flashing light/loud chime for the doorbell etc.
  • Help to make sure you get the benefits you are entitled

Your local library is committed to providing equal access for all. They provide a range of services to help people who are blind and visually impaired, deaf and hearing impaired and people with Dyslexia.

Giffnock Community Library also have a collection of books, videos, magazines and useful guides and leaflets for the deaf and hearing impaired
