Cancer Care Nurses
Cancer Care Nurses are very experienced and specialise in aiding cancer patients. They help throughout the different stages of the disease, from diagnosis to the end of life, working in the home and in hospital.
Support is also given to the primary carer, guiding them through the suitable care options. Nurses can also provide supervision in clinical practice. and some are trained counsellors who can guide loved ones through bereavement.
To get help from a cancer care nurse you can contact your local GP, ward nurse or hospital doctor to discuss the options. You can be referred to a district nurse or to the charity nurses, Marie Curie or Macmillan.
