Cancer Support Centres often take on a variety of roles. They're there to provide information and advice but will often offer extra care that will help you and those you care for to cope with the physical and emotional strain of the illness.

Cancer Support Centres
The Beatson Oncology Centre (BOC)
The BOC is the lead centre for the delivery of non-surgical cancer care for the West of Scotland. It has clinical links with 16 hospitals in five surrounding health board areas and serves all ages. They also have a dedicated cancer library which can be used by the public.
The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre is housed in one state-of-the-art unit based at Gartnavel General Hospital.

conTAK: Cancer support for young adults
A support group for all young adults who live with cancer including relatives, friends and carers, as well as those who have other long-term illnesses. All members are aged sixteen years and upwards. Group members have access to complementary therapies, counselling and support. The group also socialises together regularly at pub quizzes, the cinema and bowling.

Maggie’s Centres
Maggie’s Centres are open to anyone affected by cancer including families, friends and carers. Maggie's offers information, psychological and emotional support and practical advice. Centres are positioned close to major cancer treatment centres, within hospital grounds, to enable easy access. All services are free of charge.

The Haven Centre
The Haven Centre is a drop in centre based in Blantyre, South Lanarkshire. It is a registered charity which provide holistic support to people effected by life-limiting illness. Patients, carers, families and friends can receive advice, information and support, in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Cancer information and support service at Renfrew Library
Staff will be happy to guide you through information materials and websites in a relaxing, confidential space where you can talk about your experience. The service has been developed in conjunction with Macmillan Cancer Care.

Yorkhill Royal Hospital for Sick kids
Yorkhill Hospital is one of the UK’s leading specialists for children with cancer and leukaemia. They provide accommodation for families in the hospital and in the local area. Home is Where the Help is
A respite service for children with complex care needs. Care is delivered primarily within the family home, however the service is also involved in supporting children in accessing facilities within the community.
Referral to the service is followed up by assessment, where a decision will be made on whether the service is able to provide a care package.
