Technical Paper 6 - STAG Part 1 Option Appraisal (PDF 131.6kb)

Following the Option Generation & Sifting exercise 3 strategy options were regarded as being appropriate to be taken forward to appraisal using STAG Part 1. These have been identified in relation to the overarching themes of modal and spatial issues that underpin the transport problems currently observed in East Renfrewshire.

Technical Paper 7 - STAG Part 2 Option Refinement (PDF 255.6kb)

The STAG Part 1 appraisal identified a preferred strategy option, the Integrated Modal & Spatial strategy, to be taken forward to detailed analysis using STAG Part 2. The STAG Part 2 appraisal has been used in this instance as a mechanism to identify the best means of achieving the preferred strategy rather than to pick between options. This approach has been selected as it is considered that the type of appraisal specified for STAG Part 2 is not particularly well suited to the development of a strategy as there exists considerable scope for interpretation of policy and potential solutions to identified problems which would require considerable resources to undertake the appropriate analysis. As such, it is felt that this stage of the appraisal would be better employed to help refine the mechanisms to be employed in order to implement the preferred strategy.
