By using washable nappies, even for a short time or perhaps through the night or perhaps when you plan to spend the day at home, you can do your bit to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill and feel good about saving yourself at least £500.

East Renfrewshire Council’s Real Nappy Promotion Scheme includes a £30 cash-back incentive towards purchase of real nappies.

Council cashback incentive

The real nappy cashback incentive recognises your contribution to reducing waste disposal costs by choosing not to send thousands of nappies to landfill. We will give £30 to parents/carers who have purchased cloth nappies.

How to apply - it's easy!

To receive your £30 cashback, simply send us the following documentation:

- The original receipt for the nappies you have purchased

- A letter from your health visitor or doctor (on their letterheaded paper) confirming that you are using washable nappies at home.

Glasgow Real Nappy Network

The recently launched Glasgow Real Nappy Network, run by local mums, holds nappuccinos on the first Thursday of every month at Clarkston Beanscene from 1030am-12pm.

Come along and enjoy some coffee and cake while learning about the different types and styles of nappies available. There is a nappy library with plenty of nappies for you to choose from and mums on hand who use real nappies and can answer all your cloth nappy questions. If you’re already using cloth nappies why not come along and share all your real nappy tips. And if you would like the network to bring the nappy library to you, we are more than happy to be out and about meeting with local mums and babies’ groups.
