Real Nappies
In East Renfrewshire alone, a staggering 12,500 nappies are sent to landfill every day. That is a staggering 4.5 million nappies that end up in landfill every year at a cost to the taxpayer and the environment. It is estimated that a disposable nappy takes around 500 years to biodegrade
For this reason, East Renfrewshire Council promote the use of washable or real nappies.
By using washable nappies, even for a short time or perhaps through the night or perhaps when you plan to spend the day at home, you can do your bit to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill.
East Renfrewshire Council’s Real Nappy Promotion Scheme includes:
£30 cash-back incentive towards purchase of real nappies or signing up to a nappy laundering service
