Services for women experiencing violence or abuse
There are a range of agencies that provide services for women and children experiencing abuse in East Renfrewshire:
East Renfrewshire Women's Aid
East Renfrewshire Women's Aid is a voluntary organisation that provides a free and confidential service to women, children and young people who are experiencing, or have experienced, domestic abuse. We offer confidential support and information about legal position, housing rights, benefits rights and can also access a safe place to stay. Our organisation is also able to offer a counselling service to women who have experienced domestic abuse.
East Renfrewshire Women’s Aid can also provide training for organisations which women may approach for help as well as Prevention Workshops with children and young people.
We are based at Overlee Lodge, Moray Drive, Clarkston. Our office is open Monday to Friday from 09.30-3.30. We can be contacted by dropping into our office, by telephone on 0141 644 4342, by email erwa@zoom.co.uk. (answering machine provides out of hours information or alternatively the National Domestic Abuse Helpline can be contacted on 0800 027 1234).

We also have an outreach worker who provides a drop in service at the following current locations.Citizen's Advice Bureau Main Street, Barrhead
Tuesday 1-3pm
Thornliebank Health Centre, 20 Kennishead Rd, Thornliebank.
Friday 10-12 am
We can also arrange to meet women at alternative venues within East Renfrewshire if they cannot attend our drop ins.
