Associations Day
Albertslund - 6th September 2008
Albertslund Associations Day is an event when all of the clubs in the town have stalls in the Centrum where they display what they do and recruit new members. There are stalls from sports and games clubs, political clubs and hobbies and pastimes such as photography, chess and dog clubs – and, of course, twinning. Lots of people were attracted to the East Ren stand by the free shortbread and stayed to talk to us about how to be part of the Albertslund connection and what to do in Scotland. Visit Scotland kindly supported us with translated illustrated booklets and over 100 of these were taken by interested Danes on a gloriously sunny day.

We also had the chance to meet up with friends who had visited East Ren in the past and make new connections with people from our Partnership towns of Molndal, Sisimiut, Grabow and Whitstable. Amongst the many you may know who send their greetings are Mikael Hansen, artist, who installed art works in Nielston, the Seniors English Students who stayed with hosts in East Ren and the Albertslund choir who have performed many times with the Auburn singers.
