Transport policy

The Local Transport Strategy (LTS) 2008 – 2011 replaces the original strategy published in 2000.  It is a key document that sets out the policies, projects and proposals for transport within the East Renfrewshire Council area.

The Council published a consultative draft of the LTS in August 2007 to allow the views of the public and other industry bodies to be gathered to inform the final Strategy.

The LTS sits in a hierarchy of transport plans beneath the National and Regional Transport Strategies.

In addition to the full Local Transport Strategy you can also download below the suite of Technical Papers which provide the detailed evidence base upon which the strategy has been based.

The Local Transport Strategy has been subjected to a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Assessment (Scotland) Act 2005. As part of this process a SEA Environmental Statement and SEA Environmental Report has been produced which assesses the performance of the new LTS in relation to its environmental impacts.  A copy of these reports can also be downloaded below.
