Community groups in need of residents' votes for £100,000

The voting events for Participatory Budgeting are this month

PB - Foundry

Community groups, volunteer groups and non-profit organisations need residents' votes to secure funding. The Participatory Budgeting events give residents the power to decide how the money is spent, with Barrhead and Auchenback to receive £50,000 and Neilston and Thornliebank receiving £25,000 each.

Community groups, volunteer groups and non-profit organisations have bid for funding and the successful applicants will present their ideas at a series of events where residents will then vote on which projects will receive funding.

Residents can attend, have a look around the stalls and chat to the groups and then decide how to vote. Attendees must either be a resident, volunteer in the community or attend a community group to be eligible to vote. They also must be over the age of eight to vote, however, younger children can come along and join in with the entertainment that will be on offer, from face painting to magicians

The events will take place in:

·         Barrhead and Auchenback - Saturday 16 March, Carlibar Primary School, 10am - 4pm.

·         Thornliebank - Saturday 16 March, Thorntree Hall, 11am - 2pm.

·         Neilston - Saturday 23 March, Glen Hall, 10am -2pm.
