Notice of Election

The pdf icon Notice of Election [22kb] for the forthcoming UK Parliamentary Election has now been published.

In the event a poll is required it will take place on Thursday 12 December 2019.

The hours of poll will be 7am to 10pm.

Registering to vote

You can check if you are already registered to vote by contacting the Electoral Registration Officer

if you aren't registered you can apply online

The deadline for registering to vote at the election is midnight on Tuesday 26 November.


Voting by post

If you won't be able to vote in person at the election you can apply to vote by post.

The deadline for applying to vote by post is 5pm on Tuesday 26 November.

There will be 2 postal vote issues.

If you already have a postal vote, or apply for a postal vote by Tuesday 12 November, your postal pack will be sent out around Tuesday 26 November.

Postal packs being sent overseas will be sent out around Wednesday 20 November.

If you apply for a postal vote after Tuesday 12 November your postal pack will be sent out around Monday 2 December.


Voting by proxy

If you won't be able to vote in person and don't wish to vote by post, you can ask someone to vote on your behalf (proxy vote).

Anyone eligible to vote in the election and willing to be your proxy can vote on your behalf.
