Following the incident at the Euro 2020 match between Denmark and Finland, we are reminding residents of the twenty four life-saving defibrillators we have in place across East Renfrewshire.

These potentially life-saving machines are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to the local public. The automated external defibrillators are small machines which can be accessed by members of the local community, for use in an emergency if someone suffers a cardiac arrest.

The units are simple and clear to use with a green button to power on and a red button to shock the patient if required. The devices will not allow the user to shock a victim that has a heartbeat. Clear voice prompts direct the user, concisely stating each instruction one step at a time.
