East Ren landlords to get DWP advice on Universal Credit

This article was first published on: 4 April 2016

East Renfrewshire Council's housing team are holding a special event later this month to ensure local landlords are fully aware of the impact of recent welfare reforms on letting.

Universal Credit has already been introduced in East Renfrewshire and rent arrears by benefits claimants will soon be handled differently.

The main speaker at the event is Kathleen McCormack from DWP West of Scotland Welfare Reform Team who will outline key requirements of landlords in order to receive "managed payments".

Kathleen will be joined by ERC housing officers who can discuss roll-out of the new system at a local level.

The event will take place at 6.30pm on Wednesday, 27 April at Carlibar Primary School, Carlibar Road, Barrhead.

To reserve a place, or for more information, please contact the private sector housing team on 0141 577 8362 or email
