The Eaglesham Quilt

The idea for the Eaglesham Quit was suggested to the community in 1990.  Sixty people volunteered to work on the quilt which is made up of 74 squares representing village life.

Some squares show local landscapes and others represent community groups or historical events.

The quilt was completed in 1992. It had no permanent display space until the Heritage Lottery Funded project.  It now lives inside the Carswell Centre in Eaglesham for all to admire. You can also find an information panel about the history of the quilt in the centre.
