How to apply for a nursery place

Apply for a nursery place for a 2, 3 and 4 year old child. Find out if your 2 year old qualifies for a free place and about the increased 1140 hours.

All 3 and 4 year olds and eligible 2 year olds, qualify for 600 hours of free childcare. From August 2020, this will increase to 1140 hours.

We're rolling the increased hours out from August 2018 to 4 of our nurseries. We'll allocate the increased hours by priority.

Do you qualify for the increased 1140 hours?

Nursery start date

Your child will normally start the term following their 3rd birthday. Or their 2nd birthday if they qualify for a nursery place. However, many of our Council nurseries will be able to give you a start date nearer your child's birthday,
