Community Councils

Netherlee and Stamperland Community Council

Community Councils can give their views on many issues that affect local communities, from new housing plans to alcohol licensing applications and crime. It is also an opportunity to campaign on specific issues, run local events and support good causes.

Currently there is no community council for the Netherlee and Stamperland area.

To start the process of establishing a community council, East Renfrewshire Council require at least twenty local residents, aged 16 or over, who are resident in the community council area, and who are on the electoral register, to petition the Council begin the process of establishing a community council, (a petition). The purpose of this 'petition' is to demonstrate that there is local interest in getting a community council established.

On receipt of the required petition, the Council will thereafter make the necessary electoral arrangements to establish a community council for the area.

If you are keen to get a community council for the Netherlee and Stamperland area, and are willing to help gather signatures, please contact;
