Statutory review of polling districts and polling places

In terms of the Representation of the People Act 1983 (as amended), the council is currently conducting a review of its polling districts and polling places in the council area.

The Council is carrying out a review of its polling districts and the places where people vote.

Maps showing the existing polling districts and a copy of the list of current polling places can be viewed in the Related documents section and can also be viewed at the Council Offices in Eastwood Park, Giffnock and at Main Street, Barrhead.

Following initial consultation, the Council has now approved a new draft polling scheme. A copy of the report approved by the Council containing an analysis of the suggested alternative polling places and any proposed changes to polling districts can be viewed here. A digital map of the proposed new polling scheme can be viewed here.

Anyone wishing to comment on the new draft polling scheme should do so in writing to the address below no later than Friday 23 August 2019.
