Statutory review of polling districts and polling places

In terms of the Representation of the People Act 1983 (as amended), the council is currently conducting a review of its polling districts and polling places in the council area.

The Council is carrying out a review of its polling districts and the places where people vote.

Maps showing the existing polling districts and a copy of the list of current polling places can be viewed in the Related documents section and can also be viewed at the Council Offices in Eastwood Park, Giffnock and at Main Street, Barrhead. A digital map can be viewed here.

Any elector in East Renfrewshire wishing to make representation should do so in writing to the address below no later than Friday 21 December 2018. If commenting on the suitability of premises, details of alternative places that may be used as polling places should be given wherever possible.

Following the consultation period, a draft version of the new scheme will be submitted to the Council for consideration.

This will be the subject of further consultation thereafter with a further report to be submitted to the Council in June 2019.
