Business development grants 2025 to 2026
Between now and February 2026, there's grant funding available to develop and strengthen businesses based and trading within East Renfrewshire.
These grants are provided as part of our East Renfrewshire Business Support package and open to businesses located and trading in East Renfrewshire.
Types of grants available

Before you start
To be eligible businesses must:
- provide evidence that they are trading and located within East Renfrewshire and trade for 16 hours a week or more. Evidence of trading examples include e-commerce website / orders / contracts / Facebook page with services described / leaflets etc.
- turnover more than £10,000 per annum or plan to do so in the first year of trading*
- be able to pay the living wage to any employees
- carry all relevant insurances, qualifications and licences for their business
- provide 1 written quote for the item (s) requested within the application
- provide the following documentary evidence:
- last 2 months of bank statements from business bank account. New businesses may provide a letter of confirmation from bank if account has been open for less than that time
- business insurance certificates held
- annual Accounts for businesses trading over 12 months.
- management accounts for those trading under 12 months
- income and expenditure projection for coming year for all businesses including new start businesses
- Larger grants will require additional information which will be requested during the grant assessment process
- The Council asks all businesses to adopt Fair Work practices and encourages payment of the Living Wage
* To be eligible for The Get to Zero grant turnover must be at least £50,000 per annum and applicants must be trading from commercial premises within East Renfrewshire. Businesses also must have landlords permission for any changes to premises
Any further supporting evidence not requested within the application form must be sent via email, quoting your completed application form reference number within the email header to business@eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk.

How do I apply?
What happens next?
All grant applications will be reviewed and assessed for eligibility and relevant evidence requested. We'll send you a grant acknowledgement email once the application has been submitted
Further or more details may be requested to allow us to assess your application more fully. We may also visit your business or arrange a meeting to discuss your application further.
Once all of the information is collated and assessed, a decision is made, usually within 14 days.
