Late hours catering licence

Apply and pay for a late hours catering licence.

If you intend to use premises between 11pm and 5am for the sale to or consumption by the public of meals or refreshments either on or off the premises, you will require a Late Hours Catering Licence for the premises.

Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982


A late hours catering licence is:

  • £178 for 1 year
  • £359 for 2 years
  • £430 for 3 years

It costs £40 to change a catering licence.

There's no cost to supply a certificate of compliance or to cancel a late hours catering licence.

What happens next?

If your application is refused

If your licence is refused you can appeal to the Sheriff by writing to:

The appeal must be made within 28 days of the refusal.
